October 12th Hint of the Week

If you don't like the raw color of the clay at the base of your piece, you can color it with a permanent marker. The clay will absorb the color (permanently). We have also had good luck using this over crazed glazes to highlight the crazing. Apply it and then you can rub it off the glaze leaving it in the craze marks. It may also work to cover those spots where the glaze didn’t stick to a piece which sometimes happens when you don’t get all the dust off a piece before glazing.
